The partnership between the HDF Defence Staff Cyber and Information Operations Directorate and the American unit dates back several decades, and this excellent bond between the two allies has now further strengthened in the virtual space as well.

During the exercise, the specialists of the two nations harmonized their defence procedures and shared the lessons learned in the interest of taking joint action against complex challenges emerging from the cyberspace.
To execute their tasks jointly, they used a specially designed, closed virtual space called Cyber Range. This realistic simulation platform was provided by a well-known US cyber security partner company. Enjoying the continuous support of experts of the partner company, the Hungarian and US soldiers deepened their practical knowledge with the use of this interface.
The tasks assigned to the teams composed of specialists included continuous monitoring of the network, quick detection of penetration testing and immediate incident response. In the interest of successful defence, the teams were supposed to dynamically adapt the configuration of protected systems to the threats, while the whole process of incident response was given special emphasis.

Due to the increasingly complex challenges to Hungary and NATO created by global security trends, the close and continuous collaboration between international experts and the civil sphere is indispensable.
The event was also visited by a number of strategic-level professional leaders, namely by Major General Dr. László Kovács, Deputy State Secretary for Digitization and Cyber Defence; Brigadier General Gábor Pozderka, Chief of HDF Defence Staff Cyber and Information Operations Directorate representing the Chief of Defence; as well as Colonel Tiffany Rivera, Head of the US Military Group representing the U.S. Embassy Budapest.
