Based on the information received from the Hungarian federation, Gábor Botta-Dukát won a gold medal in the senior men’s king category, thus, he defeated everyone with his right arm in heavyweight. He also became world champion in the U23 with both right and left arms. Staff Sergeant Brigitta Kőváriné Ivánfi (70kg) won two bronze medals in the senior category, and she also participated in the master category, where she won a gold medal with her right and left arms each. Patrik Donkó (65kg) defeated everyone in the U18 category with his right arm, just as Tibor Simon (80kg) in the senior grandmasters. In the sub-junior category, Nóra Krasnyánszki (70kg) became a world champion with both right and left arms.

According to the president of the Hungarian Armwrestling Federation, Atilla Csabai, the professional leadership expected a successful world championship. “We knew that we had outstandingly fit competitors, but I did not expect that we would win a gold medal in the king category and would finish in such a prestigious place in the contest of nations” – he said.

At the championship, more than 1200 armwrestlers from 61 countries stood at the table. The Hungarian national team of 21 finished fifth in the contest of nations with 9 gold, 2 silver and 8 bronze medals won.
