DEPUTY COMMANDER OF THE HUNGARIAN DEFENCE FORCES RECEIVES LITHUANIAN MILITARY ATTACHÉ
Text: Command of the Hungarian Defence Forces | Photo: Warrant Officer Lajos Szabó |  18:11 September 20, 2022Colonel Vilmas Satas, the accredited military attaché of Lithuania to Hungary, paid an introductory visit to Lieutenant General Zsolt Sándor, Deputy Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces, on Monday, 19th September.
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Sándor said that Hungary is committed to deepening the cooperation in bilateral military relations and in areas related to the international role of the Hungarian Defence Forces, and also to strengthening and increasing the intensity of regional cooperation with the Baltic countries in the framework of the V4.
The discussions also touched upon the challenges of the reserve system, and the progress made in the development of the armed forces.
At the meeting the international role of the Lithuanian armed forces, the current challenges to the Baltic defence policy were also discussed, including NATO's Baltic air policing mission, in which fighter pilots of the Hungarian Defence Forces have participated for the third time since 1st August this year – after their deployment in 2015 and 2019.
