This year, the series was organized for the first time in the Czech Republic, where the impressive venue called Skydive Pink Klatovy is known as the citadel of Czech parachuting.
The organizers did a really good job, as they set up an excellent drop zone on the airfield. The weather did not favor the jumpers this time, either, but the competition was evaluated on the basis of the five rounds of completed jumps.
The Hungarian team came in second after the world champion Czech national paratrooper team, to be followed by the national team of the Italian armed forces. Captain Tamás Bánszky (HDF 101st Aviation Wing) was placed first in the individual master discipline, while Warrant Officer Tamás Varga (HDF 86th Helicopter Wing) was placed third.
Following the competition, Captain Bánszky told us that “I’m especially happy for the result, because so far, this year has not been a good one in terms of results. The weather did not favor us, and luck was not on our side either. We would like to continue this good series, and to achieve similar successes at the upcoming competitions as well!”.
