Speaking about his visit to Sarajevo in the company of General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of HDF Defence Staff, the minister of defence said that nearly two decades after the ending of the war in the former Yugoslavia, the presence of the international community continues to be indispensable to guarantee peace and security – and the Hungarian Defence Forces have been playing a decisive role in it for 20 years now. The 24 troop contributing nations of EUFOR Operation Althea are closely cooperating with each other. It is of historic significance that this year, the mission is being led, for the first time, by a Hungarian commander, Major General László Sticz PhD.
