Hungary to host the Austrian Derby in the Year of Sports

“This year marks the 150th anniversary of the famous Hungarian racehorse, Kincsem, and it is a great sports diplomatic success that the long-standing Austrian derby will be hosted by Hungary for the first time” – said the minister in the video. “The Austrian Derby has been organized each year for 156 years. This serious competition, a breeding trial for English thoroughbred mares and stallions was established as the third one on the continent. The beautiful racecourse of Budapest, Kincsem Park will host two derbies this year: the Hungarian Derby on 7 July and the Austrian Donau Derby on 4 August” – said Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.
