The Regional Arms Control Verification and Implementation Assistance Centre (RACVIAC) is holding its Open Skies arms control (observation flight) course at the HDF 47th Airbase in Pápa, Hungary between 3 and 9 March 2024. The director of the organization appointed last year, Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie and Rear Admiral Predrag Stipanović, Deputy Director RACVIAC arrived in Hungary to attend the event.
At the meeting, the deputy chief of HDF General Saff explained that the stability of the Western Balkans and the strengthening of relations among the countries of the region are top priorities for Hungary, and our country strongly supports the European integration of the countries in the region, which we plan to continue while holding the upcoming EU presidency in the second half of 2024.
Hungary and RACVIAC have a long-standing excellent relationship, as Hungary supports its activity by permanently delegating an expert, providing presenters for educational tasks and training exercises and in-kind financing of its programs.
The mission of RACVIAC is to strengthen dialogue and broaden cooperation between the countries of Southeastern Europe and international partner organizations, thus providing an independent and impartial platform to discuss the issues of peace and security. It puts all of it into practice through program-based cooperation – courses, practical training of experts, conferences, seminars and exercises – financed from the contributions of its members.
