On the occasion of completing her military diplomacy service in Hungary, Minister of Defence of Hungary Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky awarded the “Service Medal for Military Diplomacy” to Colonel Feride Tosun, the military attaché of Türkiye accredited to Budapest. The decoration was presented to the colonel by MoD Deputy State Secretary for Defence Policy László Hajnik in the Ministry of Defence on 25 July.
The MoD deputy state secretary for defence policy thanked the colonel for her dedicated and outstanding work as military attaché that contributed to strengthening the Hungarian–Turkish military relations and priority strategic partnership cooperation.
“As Türkiye’s first female military attaché, Colonel Feride Tosun has significantly helped the development of Hungarian–Turkish bilateral military cooperation and military diplomacy relations. As part of the priority strategic partnership between the two countries, this bilateral defence cooperation extends to the fields of the military, defence innovation and defence industry, as well as to the allied and even friendly relationships based on the mutual respect of each other.
In saying thanks, Colonel Feride Tosu – who is to complete her service in Budapest by the end of this month – pointed out that she hopes for the valuable and meaningful cooperation to continue between the two countries in the fields of politics, economy, culture, and last but not least in the field of the military.
The ceremony was also attended by H. E. Ms. Cavidan Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu, the ambassador of Türkiye to Budapest, and Colonel Tosun’s spouse and daughter.
