NATO should remain, according to the original intentions, a defence alliance – emphasized Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky in his video statement posted on Facebook following the discussion at the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence in Brussels on Thursday.

Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky said that at the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence, the US representative introduced “what is ahead of us” by saying that “NATO 3.0” is coming. The global security situation has changed, and the United States is focusing on other priorities, he added.

“Unfortunately, we also hear the news from home,” that the war is going on, claiming new victims, and there is a new Hungarian victim as well, he declared.

“In light of this, I underlined in the discussion how important it is that NATO remains, according to the original intentions, a defence alliance. Peace requires strength, we carry on with the work in NATO”, said Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.

It has been written attached to the video statement that “In Ukraine, not more weapons are needed, but sanity and honest dialogue!”
