“Four cattle farms are affected so far, the first two are here, in Győr-Moson-Sopron County. Therefore, our soldiers started the tasks assigned to them – involving relevant professionals – gradually, as planned in the northwestern part of the country”, declared the defence minister.

“The soldiers have transported disinfection containers from Székesfehérvár to set them up at Hegyeshalom and Rajka to help disinfect the motor vehicles. Besides, they are securing the designated areas”, he added.

“Hungarian people can always rely on the Hungarian Defence Forces!”, closed Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky the post following his visit to the illness-stricken area.

Saturday afternoon, the defence minister announced at a press conference held at the Hegyeshalom border crossing point of the M1 motorway that the HDF 102nd CBRN Regiment contributes to the decontamination of motor vehicles, and the Győr-based HDF 205th Air Defence Regiment is helping its activity.

The minister underlined that “we go where we are needed”. He recalled that the HDF had also participated in protection other times, with the capabilities at hand. He mentioned the alumina plant accident and the flood control as examples.

Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky emphasized that the Székesfehérvár-based CBRN regiment is capable of decontaminating the required motor vehicles. He added that the HDF also help by securing areas and supporting the police as partner patrols.
