The HDF’s national team waited for the final contest in third place. Throughout the jumps, the team has been in the leaderboard, to which the good weather also contributed. Captain Tamás Bánszki recalled that “The accuracy landing competition in Locarno was important for the team from several aspects. We wanted to finish on the podium following the whole-year competition, and I also chose the team now for this year’s military championships ahead of us”.

“Following round 5, our team was already in third place, but there was a close competition in the leaderboard. From the rivalry, the Czech world-class team stood out, who arrived as champions, but the Swiss, German, French, Italian and Qatari teams also competed for medals. Our team performed outstandingly, the energy invested in the past years has borne its fruit, the young members also performed well”, assessed the competition the professional head of the national team.

At the World Cup in Switzerland, our team eventually came in third; therefore, they became second by the annual overall results. The Czech team came in first and the French third. The series of successes is further expanded by the fact that Warrant Officer Gábor Hirschler came second in the individual accuracy landing master category.

For the next time, the Hungarian national team will compete at the CISM World Military Parachuting Championships in Doha in November. “I would like to give thanks to our military leaders and colleagues for the support that the team received in the recent past. I hope that we can further rely on their support, and we, athletes, prepare with a heart filled with hope”, summarised his expectations Captain Tamás Bánszki.
