The foreign units participating in Exercise Jolly Vihar 24 – the 56th and 57th Rescue Squadrons and the 56th Rescue Generation Squadron of the U.S. Air Force – have arrived at the Hungarian Defence Forces 47th Air Base in Pápa, Hungary.

Besides rehearsing combat search and rescue (CSAR) operations, the participants are also to carry out an air-to-ground live fire exercise: with logistic support from the Pápa airmen, the seasoned American helicopter crewmembers develop their capabilities in situations similar to battlefield conditions on the Hungarian Defence Forces Central Training and Shooting Range.

While the American personnel are practicing live fire drills, during the cooperation the Pápa airmen are performing logistic tasks related to ground servicing; furthermore, they can practice a number of special procedures connected with the helicopter type.
