This also contributes to Hungary becoming one of the most important centres for future technologies in Europe, declared Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó in Szeged on 12 December. The Ministry of Defence was represented at the event by MoD State Secretary for Force Development and Defence Policy Dr. Zsolt Kutnyánszky.

Rheinmetall’s vehicle industry department’s HUF 29 billion greenfield investment was supported by the government with approximately HUF 13 billion, thus helping the creation of 300 new job opportunities, requiring a high level of education, by 2030.
This is the first hybrid premises of the company group outside Germany, where primarily such parts will be manufactured that are important in both traditional and electric vehicles and power plants generating renewable energy. “This also contributes to Hungary becoming one of the most important centres for future technologies in Europe”, said the minister of foreign affairs and trade.
The investment is being realised in the Science Park of the University of Szeged. It shows that this is about the most modern technologies; this is an investment in the future, said the minister.

In the German industry, from vehicle manufacturing to the defence industry, everyone knows how great a part Hungarian manufactures, Hungarian engineers, Hungarian skilled workers and Hungarian added value play in the performance of German companies.
“Every effort that we put in Hungary becoming a safe place was worth it. A place where people, companies and their investments are always safe”, emphasized Péter Szijjártó.

Since 2014, the government has supported the investment of 324 German companies, due to which investments of HUF 3800 billion were realised, creating more than 40,000 new job opportunities. In Csongrád-Csanád County during the past ten years, the value of industrial production increased by 84%, while unemployment decreased by 40%.
This year, agreements were made for 108 large investments, which altogether make up a value of HUF 2800 billion and which create 18,000 new job opportunities in Hungary.
