Hungary receives the fastest in the world on land, at sea and in the air. In addition to the Hungaroring and the Duna Arena, the HDF Joint Forces Training Centre’s Kőröshegy shooting range hosts the “international field”.
At least, those who looked up at the sky above the Zero Point on 24 April could see different types of helicopters: on one of Europe’s biggest shooting ranges, the American Jolly Vihar 2026, the Spanish–Hungarian Logical Decision and the HDF 86th Helicopter Wing’s own exercise are taking place in parallel. They are the Formula-1 pilots of the helicopter capability, said an airman of the U.S. Air Force’s 56th and 57th Rescue Squadrons at the Zero Point Shooting Range.
They arrived with the famous HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopters from Aviano Air Base, Italy at the HDF 47th Pápa Air Base, then the HDF Joint Forces Training Centre. Their Spanish fellow airmen flew EC665 Tigers and NH-90 Sea Tigers, while the pilots from Szolnok arrived with their H225M transport helicopters.
