COMMANDER OF THE HUNGARIAN DEFENCE FORCES RECEIVES CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE PAKISTANI GROUND FORCES

On 14th September, Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces, received with military honours Colonel General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Pakistani Army Staff and his delegation on a multi-day visit to Hungary, on Heroes’ Square in Budapest.

After the ceremony, the Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces and the Chief of Staff of the Pakistani Ground Forces held a restricted discussion. At that, Lt. Gen. Ruszin-Szendi said that the HDF is open to service-level cooperation of the two countries, sees an opportunity in the implementation of the exchange student program in military higher education, as well as in the participation of the Hungarian Defence Forces in Pakistani military exercises as observers.

After the discussion, Lt. Gen. Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi gave a presentation on the force development and modernization program of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

During the visit to Hungary, the Pakistani Colonel General met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Mr Péter Szijjártó too. At the meeting, both parties agreed regarding that all steps should be supported that bring end of the Russo-Ukrainian war closer. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade said, Hungary is providing support to Pakistan so that the country managed to deal with the effects of the extremely severe floods of the recent past as efficiently as possible. To this end, Hungary is sending medicine and hygiene equipment to the country in South Asia.
