Major General Sticz emphasized that both brigadier generals are strong pillars of the European Union’s peacekeeping mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as their service in their area of responsibility is crucial for the high-level implementation of the tasks included in the mandate of Operation Althea.

The first Hungarian commander of EUFOR added that he met true comrades in the awarded generals, whose professional experience, integrity, preparedness and commanding qualities further strengthen EUFOR’s credibility and positive perception in the eyes of the leadership and population of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The “Honours for the Partnership” has been established in 2018 and is awarded by the Chief of Defence of the Hungarian Defence Forces to foreign soldiers in recognition of their outstanding performance while carrying out joint tasks with Hungarian troops.
