The post says that the patrolling soldiers of the mission were witnesses to an accident on the M17 highway in Sarajevo, where a civilian vehicle crashed into a guardrail and fell into a ditch. The soldiers rushed to the scene of the accident immediately and found that the passengers of the car were not injured. They notified the local authorities and secured the scene while slowing down the traffic to avoid further accidents.

EUFOR Operation Althea Commander Major General László Sticz presented the soldiers with tokens of appreciation for their professional performance, namely Sergeant Csaba Herczeg, Private Second Class Attila Dávid Halász, Private Second Class Richárd Vásárhelyi, territorial defence reservist Corporal Tibor Hajdok, Staff Sergeant Ákos Droszt, Private Second Class Norbert Fila, Private Second Class Tibor Baki and Private Second Class Antal Adrián Zsupos.

The defence minister has already highlighted on several forums that the performance of Hungarian soldiers is also recognized in NATO. This case is another great example of the Hungarian soldiers’ unselfishness, rapid situation awareness and professionalism.
