First Multinational Division Commanders’ Conference Strengthens NATO Cooperation

Leaders of MNDs North, Northeast, South and Southeast gathered at a forum to exchange views, strengthen cooperation, and aligning efforts across the divisions in support of NATO’s collective defence and deterrence posture. Key topics discussed included situational updates, NATO’s evolving C2 concept, operational budget planning, experimentation initiatives, survivability measures, and the exchange of operational experiences.

In his opening remarks, COM HQ MND-C Major General Tibor KRÁLIK welcomed the participants, highlighting the importance of the event as a milestone in fostering greater unity among NATO’s Multinational Divisions. He underlined the shared responsibility of ensuring that NATO remains ready, resilient, and forward-looking.

The discussions reaffirmed that NATO’s strength lies not only in its capabilities but also in its cohesion and shared commitment. The conference served as a platform to establish a solid foundation for future cooperation among the divisions, ensuring that efforts remain coordinated and mutually reinforcing.

In his closing address, Major General KRÁLIK expressed his gratitude to all participants for their active contributions, and underlined the intent to continue this conference series on a regular basis. He also emphasised the importance of establishing further forums for dialogue among Subject Matter Experts, particularly at the Deputy and Assistant Chiefs of Staff levels, to carry forward the issues and proposals discussed by the leaders.

This first Commanders’ Conference marks the beginning of a structured dialogue between NATO’s Multinational Divisions, reflecting the Alliance’s commitment to adaptation, innovation, and collective security.
