From Bangladesh to Budapest
Study group from National Defence College Bangladesh visits the Ministry of Defence
Text: Ministry of Defence | Photo: Lajos Szabó |  13:53 September 8, 2025On 3 September, a study group of the General Staff Course of the National Defence College, Dhaka attended informative lectures at the Ministry of Defence in Budapest. The students enrolled on the general staff course have arrived in the capital of Hungary from Berlin, the previous leg of their study tour. The 30+-member delegation was welcomed by Brigadier General Zoltán Berec, Chief of the HDF Defence Staff Force Planning Directorate.

General Berec pointed out that it has been a long time since the last such numerous and high-level delegation from Bangladesh paid a visit to Hungary, and we are very pleased to be able to exchange experiences gained in the fields of defence policy and national defence.
In the subsequent lectures, the Hungarian side presented the security and defence policy of Hungary and its region, as well as that of our NATO and EU alliance systems. This was followed up by a presentation of the renewed organization of the Hungarian Defence Forces and Hungary’s military engagement abroad.
The Bangladeshi delegation spent a week in Hungary, during which it visited, among others, the Faculty of Military Science and Officer Training of the Ludovika University of Public Service and the HDF 1st EOD and Riverine Guard Regiment.
