This year, soldiers from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia compared their skills and preparedness at the championship with decades of tradition, organized by the HDF “vitéz Szurmay Sándor Budapest” Garrison Brigade for the 28th time. Many foreign soldiers almost “come home” for the competition.
The teams arrived for the two-day competition from the garrison headquarters of Central European capitals, following a thorough preparation, because everyone came to win, and the heat posed an extra challenge to the competitors.

The majority of the soldiers preferred shooting, in which they also had the opportunity to prove their skills in an individual event on the first day of the competition with both pistols and assault rifles. The second day was more physically challenging: competitors had to use their skills, such as rapidity, endurance, map reading, several skill challenges and shooting, for hours.
This year, winners were announced in three categories: in the patrol championship, the Budapest garrison team won, while the teams from Warsaw and Bratislava became second and third, respectively. In the assault rifle and pistol competitions, the team from Budapest reached the top of the podium, soldiers from Warsaw became second and those from Prague became third.
And to us, everyone is a winner who was able to meet this difficult challenge on the hottest days of the summer.
