Domestic success at the Hungarian–Serbian Generals’ Football Cup

Although the Hungarian community of football fans is still bemoaning our national team’s failure to qualify for the world cup, there is reason for some football joy within the Hungarian Defence Forces. The team composed of HDF leaders recently won 3:0 against the team of Serbian top military leaders at a friendly match.

With Hungary holding the presidency, the Hungarian Defence Forces recently received in Hungary the military delegations of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, within the framework of the V4 Cooperation. According to General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of HDF Defence Staff, it is essential that the four countries build real and shared military capabilities. A good example of this is Exercise Breakthrough 2025, the joint training event of the V4 countries, which develops the artillerymen’s and tank crew members’ skills.
Language is an Invisible Bridge Between Nations

The three-day conference “Challenges and Trends in Shaping Future (Military) Language Education” puts the future of professional language training and the challenges of military interoperability at the centre. The conference was opened at the Ludovika University of Public Service on 17 November. The event has been organised by the Ministry of Defence and the Foreign Language and Terminology Centre of the Faculty of Military Sciences and Officer Training and is being attended by professionals from half a dozen countries.
Big Breakthrough

The International Live Fire Tactical Exercise Breakthrough 2025 has started. The training event is taking place in the Central Shooting Range and Training Area, and will end on 23 November. The objective is to allow tankers and artillerymen of the HDF 1st Armored Brigade to exercise operational planning while being augmented with foreign subunits in a combined-arms environment under real-world circumstances.

The area of River Isonzo was the venue of one of the cruelest and most senseless bloodbaths of the First World War, where hundreds of thousands of troops fell or got wounded during the fights. 110 years after opening the third front of the Great War, 110 Hungarian students are paying tribute to the heroes’ memory at memorial sites in the area. On the first day of their visit, they explored the town of Kobarid, the Outdoor Museum in Kolovrat and the Austro-Hungarian military cemetery in Loče.

Within the framework of the pre-planned, joint, whole-of-government, defence Exercise Adaptive Hussars 2025, paratroopers of the Parachute Squadron of the HDF Special Operations Command are executing parachute jumps from KC-390 transport aircraft above the “zero” point shooting range and military training area. The objective of the exercise is to strengthen SOF capabilities, especially those related to covert and quick reaction deployments.
