The invited exhibitors at the Agency’s stand included ten Hungarian companies and the Defence Innovation and Research Institute (VIKI) of Hungary. The 190-m2 national stand introduced the products and solutions of Hungarian defence industry that may attract interest in Southeast Asia.
At the event, the SERO International’s sniper rifle and the GHI-Csendes’s bullet trap device as well as its modular shooting range solutions attracted great attention. Several Asian market leaders also mentioned as remarkable the crowd riot control use of the non-lethal guns produced by Atlas Network and Globserver Ltd. The Asian defence industry players were also introduced to the Gamma Technical Corporation’s CBRN Detection, Identification and Monitoring (DIM) reconnaissance vehicles, to the Lightware Visual Engineering’s high-speed signal transmission (AV-over-IP) systems and also to two satellite-manufacturing companies: Remred Ltd presented its REMTECH manufacturing, assembly, integration & testing technology center which offers testbeds and is to be opened soon, while the C3S LLC brought nanosatellite solutions to the Asian partners.
ARWORKS and Appentum introduced the decision-makers interested in Southeast Asian defence industry to the educational and training opportunities on offer by Hungarian XR technology, which take place in virtual space and extend into augmented reality (AR). The XR researcher of the Defence Innovation and Research Institute – who is President of the Hungarian XR Coalition that supports the innovation potentials of Hungarian companies dealing with Extended Reality – was also present at the event and held negotiations on the possible forms of Thai–Hungarian cooperation in the field of innovation.
The VEX Agency’s stand was also visited by Thai Defence Minister Sutin Klungsang and the Czech Deputy Minister of Defence, as well as by state secretaries from the Indonesian, Pakistani and Malaysian ministries of defence. Coming from Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh and other ASEAN countries, a number of military leaders showed interest in Hungarian-made defence industry equipment. More than 480 companies from 47 countries participated in the four-day exhibition. The event in Thailand attracted 23,000 visitors and received 350 official delegations.
The Hungarian Defence Export Agency Ltd considers as one of its most important tasks to introduce its partner companies as well as the overall performance of Hungarian defence industry, and to help their good reputation grow in the world. The VEX supports its partners’ export aspirations outside Europe, in the Far Eastern, African and South American markets as well. During next year’s exhibitions, the partner companies of the Hungarian Defence Export Agency Ltd will be able to introduce their capabilities again on national stands in Asia, at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris and at other international defence industry exhibitions.
