Exercise NOBLE JUMP 2023 saw the deployment of NATO's Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) to the Italian island of Sardinia in April of this year. The exercise was primarily aimed at testing NATO's ability to react and deploy, which offered a great opportunity to demonstrate the readiness, strategic mobility and the combat effectiveness of its ground forces.

The Hungarian soldier, who was awarded a general's commendation, was appointed by Rear Admiral Milan ŽUNIĆ, the Assistant Chief of Staff (logistics) for the operational level logistics planning and coordination of the exercise NOBLE JUMP 2023. Planning the exercise for 24 months presented many logistical challenges for the planners of Allied nations and NATO Command participating in the exercise. During the execution phase of the exercise in April, together with 2,200 soldiers from 7 NATO nations (Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Belgium and Latvia), Leopard 2 tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled howitzers and combat helicopters were deployed to the training areas in Sardinia, where they participated in various military trainings in joint operations with their NATO Allies.

Since 2021, Major Bozsik has served as a staff officer in the Logistics Operations and Plans Branch of JFCNP. During his service, he has participated in several operations including the NATO evacuation operation in Afghanistan (Operation ALLIED SOLACE) alongside Maj General Mead and the NATO Support to Earthquake Relief Efforts in Turkey (NSERET). Major Bozsik has attended numerous NATO courses and actively participated in events promoting Hungary and the Hungarian Defense Forces. Major Viktor Bozsik's outstanding work during the planning and execution of the exercise NOBLE JUMP 2023 was recognized with this award.
