Hungarian soldiers have assisted with preparations for the Olympics
Text: defence.hu | Photo: Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky’s Facebook page |  10:52 July 29, 2024Within the framework of international cooperation with 12 other countries, the soldiers and dogs of the Hungarian Defence Forces 1st EOD and Riverine Guard Regiment have assisted with the security preparations for the Olympics in support of the French forces – wrote Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky on his social media page.
Together with their Explosive Detection Dogs (EDDs), Sergeant First Class Balázs Németh and Staff Sergeant Lajos Serb participated in a preliminary security sweep (pre-sweep) of the Olympic venues, including the area of the Louvre – in Paris.
Besides the fast-paced and very responsible task execution, there was also time for cultural relaxation – now, even Mona Lisa is already in safety! – added Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.
