The energy of cheering gets transferred

“May the Hungarians be successful!” – this was what Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, who is staying at the Paris Olympics, was talking about in the Sunday evening news program of the Hungarian TV channel “M1 aktuális”.

The minister would like to see the Hungarians “paying attention to this wonderful event” and cheering for their athletes. “I’m convinced that the energy of cheering gets transferred” – he noted.

The evening news program also reported that the Hungarian Olympic team has 23 military members drawn from the Hungarian Defence Forces Sports Company, and the minister hopes that the athletes will bring a lot of joy to Hungarian people.

At the first weekend of the Summer Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris, several Hungarian military athletes entered the competition. Corporal Flóra Pásztor finished eighth in fencing – women’s foil individual, Sergeant Gergely Siklósi finished ninth in fencing – men’s épée individual, while the Hungarian swimming team consisting of Corporal Panna Ugrai –Petra Senánszky – Minna Ábrahám – Nikolett Pádár finished tenth in the women’s 4×100 m freestyle relay.
