At the 47th CISM World Military Parachuting Championships (WMPC), held in Doha between 13 and 23 November, 180 competitors from 28 countries compared their skills in accuracy landing, style and formation skydiving events. The Hungarian team represented our country in accuracy landing with six athletes from the HDF 86th Helicopter Wing personnel.

The members of the team were Warrant Officer Gábor Hirschler, Warrant Officer Tamás Varga, Staff Sergeant Roland Olenyik, Staff Sergeant Ferenc Horváth, Corporal Bence Hirschler and in the youth category, Private Second Class Bálint Szécsény.

The organizers provided outstanding circumstances, but due to the bad weather, the accuracy landing ended after seven jumps instead of the planned ten. The Hungarian team secured 11th place anyway, and in the individual competition, Warrant Officer Gábor Hirschler finished 10th.

By the end of the year, the national team also acquired second place overall in the world championships.

The team is already preparing for the next challenge: the 48th CISM World Military Parachuting Championships will be held in Slovakia in 2026, where the Hungarian parachutists will participate with renewed vigour.
