Ambassadors of the EU Political and Security Committee (PSC), defence industry diplomats and the EU military representatives (MILREP) are visiting Hungary in connection with our country holding the presidency of the European Union. Within the framework of demonstrations, the delegations are to be given an insight into the capabilities of the Hungarian Defence Forces in the area of Veszprém-Újmajor shooting range on 13 and 19 September.

The designated personnel are going to carry out static displays and dynamic military demonstrations in order to introduce the delegations to the military equipment procured within the framework of the National Defence and Military Development Program, and to give them an insight into the capabilities of Hungarian forces declared to the EU Battle Group. The two demonstration days are also highly important to territorial defence reservists, as they will provide them with an opportunity to prove again their preparedness and aptitude.

The reservists of the HDF ‘Dombay Miksa’ 4th Territorial Defence Regiment have been assigned the task of operating a checkpoint, during which they demonstrate how soldiers respond to and defend against an attack, as well as how they treat the casualties.

The dry run was also observed by Colonel András Polyák, Deputy Commander, HDF Territorial Defence Forces Command. Besides speaking highly of the task execution, he also praised the territorial defence reservists’ preparedness and training level as well as their commitment to the Hungarian Defence Forces and to the defence of Hungary. As he noted, the demonstration creates an opportunity for them to prove that there is a need for the territorial defence reservists’ military service.
