The „Soldier of the Month" title for the Kosovo peacekeeping NATO-led KFOR mission in December 2024 was awarded to Corporal Gábor Száraz, a soldier of the Hungarian Defence Forces Bocskai István 11th Motorised Infantry Brigade.

At the end of October, during the execution of his duties, Corporal Száraz noticed a young woman collapsing on the roadside. She had a baby in a stroller with her. Acting immediately, he stopped on the road, using his vehicle to block traffic and secure the area. He then moved the woman and the baby to a safe location and began providing first aid to the unconscious woman. By the time paramedics arrived, he was able to hand over both the woman and the baby in stable condition. They were subsequently transported to a hospital by the local healthcare service. For his outstanding performance, Corporal Gábor Száraz received the recognition from KFOR Command Sergeant Major, Massimo Pizzolla, at KFOR Headquarters, in Camp Film City in Pristina.
