Professional Training in Kosovo

Hungarian soldiers have been providing "fire phobia" training — designed to overcome the fear of fire — for newcomers arriving in the operational area for many years. This time, the second infantry company of the 34th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent held a session for soldiers from North Macedonia of Regional Command-West, where Hungarian specialists demonstrated the necessary techniques step-by-step.

On 30 March in Pristina, Captain Anna Katschnig, Company Commander, KFOR Multinational Military Police (MNMP) received the “Honors for the Partnership” medal from Colonel Gábor Hangya, Senior National Representative of the Hungarian KFOR Contingent KFOR Tactical. The Austrian commander displayed outstanding cooperation and professionalism during the visit of the President of Hungary.

Second Rotation of H145M Helicopter Detachment in Kosovo

Another rotary-wing aircraft and the selected personnel of the HDF 86th Helicopter Wing started their service in Kosovo in July as a part of the Aviation Detachment, carrying out air support tasks within the NATO-led peacekeeping forces (Kosovo Force, KFOR), and also contributing to the stability of the Western Balkans and the international recognition of Hungary.

The 32nd rotation of the Hungarian Defence Forces’ contingent (KFOR Tactical Reserve Battalion, KTRBN) recently started its service in Kosovo. The Transfer of Authority ceremony – held in Camp Novo Selo on 26 March – was presided over by Major General Enrico Barduani, the commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission in Kosovo. The event was also attended by Major General László Domján, ambassador and EU integration advisor, and Martin Sárik, deputy diplomat representing the Embassy of Hungary in Pristina.

In the last week of February, the 31st rotation of the Hungarian Defence Forces KFOR (Kosovo Force) Contingent finished its service in the Novo Selo camp in Kosovo.

The „Soldier of the Month" title for the Kosovo peacekeeping NATO-led KFOR mission in December 2024 was awarded to Corporal Gábor Száraz, a soldier of the Hungarian Defence Forces Bocskai István 11th Motorised Infantry Brigade.

On the occasion of All Saints’ Day, the Austrian and Hungarian KFOR contingents held a joint commemoration and wreath laying in the Austro-Hungarian military cemetery of the city of Peja, in the western part of Kosovo.

The 31st rotation of the Hungarian Defence Forces' contingent deployed with the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) has begun its six-month deployment. Major General Özkan Ulutaş, KFOR’s Commander, presided over the change of command ceremony, held on 28 September, at Camp Novo Selo. Béla Bozsik, Hungary's Ambassador to Kosovo and other officials were also in attendance.

For his courageous performance, Sergeant Csanád Bendegúz Erős was recognized by Major General Özkan Ulutaş, the commander of the NATO-led Kosovo peacekeeping forces (KFOR) and Lieutenant Colonel Dávid Szent-Imrey, the commander of the MH KFOR-30 contingent, on September 7.
