Text: Lieutenant Colonel Ferenc Gera |  18:53 June 17, 2024

Special Operations Forces (SOF) soldiers and police forces from nearly thirty countries – including observers of the Hungarian special operations forces – recently gathered in Ghana and Ivory Coast at the Flintlock multinational exercise organized by the U.S. Special Operations Command Africa.

The main goal of the largest special operations exercise of the United States Africa Command, which has been distinguished for a few years, is to enhance cooperation among Central and Western African countries and the partner nations and organizations – such as NATO – supporting them, thus increasing the security of the region. Within the framework of the partnership, sharing information, countering VEOs (Violent Extremist Organizations), even by applying cross-border special operations and police procedures, and exploiting cooperations received emphasis during the exercise.
