On Tuesday, 12 May, in Budapest, President of Hungary Tamás Sulyok appointed the ministers of Péter Magyar’s government, so the new cabinet has been formed. Hungary’s new Minister of Defence is Dr. Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi.

At the appointment ceremony held at the Sándor Palace on Tuesday afternoon, Head of State Tamás Sulyok handed over letters of appointment to 16 ministers of the government. Accordingly, Szabolcs Bóna has been appointed Minister of Agriculture and Food Economy; László Gajdos has become Minister for the Living Environment; Márta Görög has become Minister of Justice; Zsolt Hegedűs has become Minister of Health; István Kapitány has become Minister of Economy and Energy; András Kármán has become Minister of Finance; Vilmos Kátai-Németh has become Minister of Social and Family Affairs; and Judit Lannert has become Minister of Children and Education. Viktória Lőrincz has been appointed Minister for Regional and Rural Development; Anita Orbán has become Minister of Foreign Affairs; Gábor Pósfai has become Minister of the Interior; Bálint Ruff has become Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office; Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi has become Minister of Defence; Zoltán Tanács has become Minister of Science and Technology; Zoltán Tarr has become Minister responsible for Social Relations and Culture; and Dávid Vitézy has become Minister of Transport and Investment.
Under the Fundamental Law of Hungary, ministers are appointed by the President of Hungary upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister, and the cabinet is officially formed with the appointment of the ministers.
The members of the new government were sworn in at the plenary session of the National Assembly.
