In early January, soldiers of the Hungarian Defence Forces’ KFOR contingent serving in Kosovo took part in a live-fire exercise organized by the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr).

The shooting event was organized for the personnel of the KFOR Tactical Reserve Battalion (KTRBN), with a total of 22 Hungarian and 3 Romanian soldiers participating. The purpose of the exercise was to earn the Schützenschnur, a marksmanship lanyard with centuries-old traditions in the German armed forces.

The Bundeswehr recognizes marksmanship performance with bronze, silver, and gold grades. During the qualification firing with the assault rifle and pistol in service with the German Army, 7 gold, 12 silver, and 3 bronze qualifications were achieved.

The Schützenschnur awards were presented on 12 January at Film City Camp in Pristina by Colonel Lutz Dietrich Müller, the national senior officer of the German contingent serving in Kosovo.
