Turkish Chief of Defence Visits Hungary

As part of his program, he laid a wreath in Heroes’ Square, Budapest, and then conducted closed-door talks in the Ministry of Defence on Monday, 12 June.
On Monday morning, the high-ranking Turkish guest – who arrived in Budapest at the invitation of Lieutenant General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of HDF General Staff – was received with military honors in Heroes’ Square of the capital city. After the honor guard’s salute, General Avserev and the delegation headed by him first listened to the Turkish national anthem and then to the Hungarian one. In what followed, the head of the delegation laid a wreath in front of the tomb of the unknown soldier.
In the morning, the acting Turkish Chief of Defence first conducted closed-door talks with Lieutenant General Dr. Gábor Böröndi and then the Turkish and Hungarian delegations attended a plenary meeting in the Balaton St building of the Ministry of Defence. During the discussions, General Musa Avserev was informed about Hungary’s role in the global and regional security environments from the aspect of defence policy, as well as about the transformation and modernization process of the Hungarian Defence Forces.
