The exercise was preceded by a serious training period. For two months, the reservists were practicing marksmanship as well as tactical and peacekeeping-related skills as part of an intensive training program, and consolidated their already existing knowledge. As a result, they were able to execute their tasks professionally and confidently to high standards in the international environment.
Conducted with the participation of more than 600 service members, the training event involved the personnel of the armed forces of several nations (Hungary, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Romania, Italy, North Macedonia, USA, Montenegro, Serbia), who worked together on developing the procedures and capabilities used during peacekeeping operations.

The primary objectives of the exercise were to strengthen international cooperation, to improve communication among service members from different countries, as well as to learn lessons and share knowledge together. The participating personnel carried out various complex tasks modeling real-world operational environment. The reservists demonstrated their preparedness in installation and convoy security tasks, patrolling, terrain search operations, as well as tactics used in fighting in built-up areas. In addition to the reserve infantry platoon, the HDF 4th Territorial Defence Regiment also delegated professional and contract soldiers to the international staff and the instructor corps.
Participation was particularly significant for the reservists of the regiment. The tasks executed in an international environment enriched them with professional experiences and further strengthened their adaptability, teamwork and commitment to the military vocation. The participants’ joint service opened up the opportunity for them to get to know the procedures, techniques and mindset of other nations, while they were able to share their own knowledge and experiences as well.

Reservists form an important and indispensable part of the Hungarian Defence Forces’ capabilities. International engagements like this contribute to their professional development, strengthen the community, and increase the participants’ knowledge and confidence. They will be able to use the lessons they learned afterwards, in the tasks of domestic training programs or during international cooperation.
On the Distinguished Visitors’ Day of the exercise, the reservists demonstrated the skills they had acquired. The demonstration was attended by Colonel András Polyák, Deputy Commander, HDF Territorial Defence and Military Augmentation Command and Chief Warrant Officer Attila Manzák, Command Sergeant Major, HDF 4th Territorial Defence Regiment.
