On 30 March, the Hungarian Defence Forces Territorial Defence and Support Command (HDF TDSC) organized the Territorial Commanders’ Conference of the Visegrád Four (V4) countries in an online format.
The event – which fits into the program schedule of the Hungarian V4 presidency – was opened by MoD Deputy State Secretary for Defence Policy Dr. Gergely Németh, who pointed out the importance of regional cooperation in his speech.
During the conference, the participating sides mutually introduced their territorial defence systems, and informed each other about the tasks in which their territorial forces are being used or are going to be used in the future.
The representatives of partner countries agreed that the current, dynamically changing security policy situation necessitates the further development of territorial defence capabilities and cooperation on a regional level.
The Slovak side, which is to take over the presidency as of mid-2022, made a verbal pledge to organize the next meeting.
