Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky emphasized that Hungary and North Macedonia are cooperating with each other in handling the migration crisis, because – as he said – “To be able to defend our homeland and the European Union, we need the stability and the strengthened security of the Western Balkans”.
He added that “the Hungarian presidency of the Council of the European Union gives priority to the accession of Western Balkan countries to the European Union, and we are committed to accelerating the EU integration of the region.”
He said that they had discussed the possible forms of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of defence industry and military training. He emphasized that the cooperation in these fields has major potentials, which will become determinant pillars of bilateral relations and will help strengthening the relations between Hungary and North Macedonia in NATO.
“We have agreed on the lines of the cooperation plan for 2025, which also contributes to deepening our military-to-military relations” – added the defence minister.
