We protect Hungary’s energy security under all circumstances

The Hungarian Defence Forces are ready to fully carry out their tasks laid out in the Fundamental Law of Hungary. The reinforcement of guard and security personnel at national critical energy infrastructure started weeks ago. The military has complemented it by reinforcing the protection of the Hungarian section of the pipeline system, based on information received from Serbia” – said Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky in a video message uploaded to his social media page on 6 April.
“We have reinforced the Hungarian pipeline section along its full length through air policing and army presence with the participation of six units of the Hungarian Defence Forces. We are continuously informing NATO on the proper channels, while Serbia is carrying on the investigation. I thank our soldiers for carrying out their duties professionally even during the Easter holidays. We protect Hungary’s energy security under all circumstances” – added the minister of defence.
Hungary has been keeping the Hungarian section of the Turkish Stream natural gas pipeline under reinforced military protection since the sabotage attempt on the Serbian side – recalled Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky in his post.
