Hungarian Air Force evacuates another 105 people from Israel

Carrying 105 people evacuated from Tel Aviv aboard, the Airbus A319 transport aircraft of the Hungarian Defence Forces landed at Liszt Ferenc International Airport, Budapest some minutes after 20:00 on Friday, 13 October.

In the early morning hours of 27 April, an A319 military transport aircraft of the Hungarian Defence Forces landed on the base of the HDF 101st Aviation Wing in Kecskemét, carrying on board 32 Hungarian and foreign citizens evacuated from civil war-stricken Sudan. The passengers of the plane were received by Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, MoD Cabinet Chief Zsolt Barthel-Rúzsa and Lieutenant General Zsolt Sándor, Deputy Chief of General Staff, Hungarian Defence Forces.

On Wednesday, 23 March a reception coupled with an award ceremony was held at the French ambassador’s residence in Budapest. Among others, MoD Deputy State Secretary for Defence Policy Dr. Gergely Németh was also among the recipients of the decorations. On Thursday, 24 March, Major General Zsolt Sándor, Deputy Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces received the French delegation on an official visit.

On 17 September in the Ministry of Defence, Budapest, Defence Minister Dr. Tibor Benkő presented the gold grade of the Service Medal of Merit decorated with laurel wreath to Major General Dr. Johann Frank, former Defence Policy Director of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Defence for the building and deepening of Austrian–Hungarian military-to-military relations and successful cooperation.
