Chief Warrant Officer Zoltán Kaszab
08:02 August 10, 2021CSM Kaszab commenced his military service as a conscript soldier from 1991-1992. Following his 12 month obligatory service he enlisted at the 34. Bercsényi Miklós Long Range Reconnaissance Battalion at Szolnok, Hungary (later was renamed as 34. Bercsényi László LRRB).
Upon enlistment he was assigned at the Long Range Reconnaissance (LRRS) communication training company as instructor until 1995.
Following his instructor assignment CSM Kaszab was appointed LRRS team deputy team leader, later team leader.
Between 2004-2006 he was assigned as a Company 1st.SGT at the LRRS company where he served earlier.
Following the structural changes that formed his LRRS Battalion into a Special Forces Battalion CSM Kaszab was appointed as battalion Sergeant Major, and later Regimental Sergeant Major from 2007-2015.
Upon the establishment of the Hungarian Defence Forces Command CSM Kaszab was promoted to CSM of the Joint Special Operations Command.
CSM Kaszab recently is serving as the Command Sergeant Major of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

Discussing challenges facing NATO in the Netherlands

The Northern Commanders’ Conference was held at NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum, the Netherlands between 6–8 December. Prior to the event, chiefs of defence of NATO member countries discussed current issues in security policy and epidemiology during a videoconference. At the meeting, Hungary was represented by Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces.

Between 29 November – 1 December, Major General Zsolt Sándor, Deputy Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces paid a visit to Brussels. During the three-day program, he visited the NATO Military Committee, the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and the NATO Special Operations Headquarters (NSHQ).

On Tuesday, 30 November Lieutenant General Zoltán Mihócza, Chief of Staff, Hungarian Defence Forces Command received in his office Spanish Ambassador HE Ms. Anunciada Fernández de Córdova and Colonel Juan Escrigas Rodríguez, Spain’s defence attaché accredited to Budapest. The visit is an outstanding one because it was almost ten years ago that the last military meeting at such a high level took place between the two countries.
