Chief Warrant Officer Zoltán Kaszab
08:02 August 10, 2021CSM Kaszab commenced his military service as a conscript soldier from 1991-1992. Following his 12 month obligatory service he enlisted at the 34. Bercsényi Miklós Long Range Reconnaissance Battalion at Szolnok, Hungary (later was renamed as 34. Bercsényi László LRRB).
Upon enlistment he was assigned at the Long Range Reconnaissance (LRRS) communication training company as instructor until 1995.
Following his instructor assignment CSM Kaszab was appointed LRRS team deputy team leader, later team leader.
Between 2004-2006 he was assigned as a Company 1st.SGT at the LRRS company where he served earlier.
Following the structural changes that formed his LRRS Battalion into a Special Forces Battalion CSM Kaszab was appointed as battalion Sergeant Major, and later Regimental Sergeant Major from 2007-2015.
Upon the establishment of the Hungarian Defence Forces Command CSM Kaszab was promoted to CSM of the Joint Special Operations Command.
CSM Kaszab recently is serving as the Command Sergeant Major of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

On 12–13 January, the Chiefs of Defence of NATO member countries meet in special circumstances during a video conference. At this year’s first official meeting of the NATO Military Committee, the advisory body of the Alliance, Hungary was represented by Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD, Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces.
The French EU presidency has started

On 12–13 January, defence ministers of the European Union met in Brest, France at an opening event of the French EU presidency to discuss threats to Europe and the further strengthening of European defence. Hungary was represented at the meeting by Defence Minister Tibor Benkő.
Hungarian–Egyptian defence cooperation may expand

On Thursday, 6 January Defence Minister Dr. Tibor Benkő received in his office H. E. Mohamed El Shinawy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Budapest. At their meeting, besides discussing current security issues, the two sides reviewed the possible areas of defence cooperation between the two countries.

Major General Stefano Del Col, Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), received Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Sendi in Beirut. During his visit, the Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces also met with the Hungarian soldiers serving in the UNIFIL mission.

During his visit, Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces, consulted with the Commander-in-Chief of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) and visited the base of the European Union Training Mission Mali in Bamako. The visit was attended by government commissioner responsible for defence development Gáspár Maróth as well.
