For the first time in the history of the two nations, Georgia and Hungary held a joint cabinet meeting in the country lying on the border of Eastern Europe and Western Asia between 11-12 October. Headed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the Hungarian delegation included Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky as well.

“In the age of threats, it is very important to have reliable allies who share our values and with whom we consult regularly. A month ago in Budapest, and now in Tbilisi, we met with my colleague, Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze”, wrote Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky on his social media page.

In the framework of the discussions held on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting, in the interest of deepening industrial cooperation between the two countries, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili signed a cooperation agreement with Hungarian Minister of Economic Development Márton Nagy. Emerging digital technologies – such as artificial intelligence (AI), data economy, Big Data, 5G networks, BlockChain and drone technologies – have a key role in the development of advanced technologies and innovations for industrial purposes.
