During the week of 23 October, the Hungarian personnel of EUFOR Operation Althea held several commemorative events. On the occasion of the national day, Krisztián Pósa, Hungary’s ambassador to Sarajevo, organized a standing reception with the participation of a Hungarian military delegation, headed by Major General Dr. László Sticz. Hungarian soldiers and civilians serving in Camp Butmir held a ceremonial staff meeting and laid a wreath at the Hungarian memorial in the memorial park of the base. Making use of the bright autumn weather, the contingent’s members also went on a hike to Trebević Mountain towering over Sarajevo, paying tribute to the memory of the 1956 heroes.
