Since 2004, the European Defence Agency (EDA) – an organization that brings together 26 EU member countries – has been working in the interest of developing European defence capabilities. Its activities cover the research and innovation of technological systems as well as training programs in support of common defence policy operations. It acts as an interface upon the member states’ request, exploiting wider EU policies to the benefit of defence, and also as a central operator with regard to EU funded defence-related activities.
On 24 February in Budapest, EDA Chief Executive Jiří Šedivý met with Major General Tibor Bozó, Chief of Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces Command. The main topic of the visit was the review of the National Defence and Armed Forces Development Program and the common goals of the Hungarian Defence Forces and the EDA.
During the day, the EDA Chief Executive also had a discussion with MoD Deputy State Secretary for Defence Policy Gergely Németh.
