Doctrinal development in focus

In cooperation with NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and NATO Standardization Office (NSO), the HDF Force Modernization and Transformation Command uniquely trains doctrine custodians and developers in the North Atlantic Alliance. A total of 28 representatives from 12 nations and 6 NATO organizations are participating in the four-day course, which began on 14th October, including one member of the Hungarian Defence Forces.
The event was opened by Colonel Zoltán Bárány, the acting commander of the HDF Force Modernization and Transformation Command. In his opening remarks, Colonel Bárány talked about the importance of doctrine development within the Alliance and national frameworks. He pointed out that the global security environment, as well as new the domains and procedures of operations require NATO to adapt quickly and flexibly to the radical changes in military technology and combat techniques. Doctrines and STANAGs are the tools that add new operational procedures to the effective use of new military equipment, while maximizing the coherence and interoperability among old and new equipment as well as among NATO member states.
The objective of the course is to provide NATO and national doctrine custodians and developers with a unified approach to developing operational procedures. To achieve it, during the course, the participants will also be assigned practical tasks in addition to classroom presentations. Furthermore. besides the most important guidelines of standardization and doctrine development, they will also learn about the challenges and possibilities related to this field of expertise.
NATO Doctrine Development Course
