Dynamically Developing American-Hungarian Defence Relations
Text: Ministry of Defence | Photo: Dávid Fabók |  13:33 June 16, 2025Following the successful, recent visit to Budapest by David Baker, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Policy, the Ministry of Defence can report on another successful American visit.

On 10 June 2025, Brigadier General Quaid Quadri arrived at Budapest to sign the infrastructural implementation agreement, as the DCA implementation acting agent of the American party, with his Hungarian partner, Colonel István Hajnal, within the framework of the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA).

Brigadier General Quadri is also the U.S. European Command’s (USEUCOM) deputy director for Security Cooperation, Partnering, Policy and Space Capabilities, who, before signing the agreement, was received on a courtesy visit by László Hajnik, MoD Deputy State Secretary for Defence Policy. During the discussion, the parties looked through the main issues of the bilateral cooperation, as well as the actualities and developments of the subjects discussed with Deputy Assistant Secretary David Baker during his visit between 16 and 17 April 2025.

The Defence Cooperation Agreement, effective since 2019, and the implementation agreements worked out based on it, make numerous valuable and, from the armed forces development’s point of view, indispensable developments possible. For the operation of a combat-ready armed forces, the infrastructure must also be developed.
