On the occasion of the bilateral meeting, Lieutenant General Zsolt Sándor gave the Estonian ambassador detailed information about the currently ongoing processes in the Hungarian Defence Forces, with special regard to the reform of their force structure.

Earlier on, Ambassador Raul Toomas had also met with Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, and discussed with him the Baltic Air Policing mission and Hungary’s role in it, as well as the importance of strengthening NATO’s eastern flank. During the consultation with the Minister of Defence, it was also revealed that defence innovation is a common denominator between our nations, since Hungary contributes two test centers to NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) initiative, which has been launched with Estonia being one of its host nations.
