Exemplary military and defence cooperation

Hungarian–Serbian defence policy directors’ meeting and Hungarian–Austrian–Serbian panel discussion in Belgrade

On 21 June, MoD Deputy State Secretary for Defence Policy László Hajnik paid a visit to Belgrade. During his official trip, the deputy state secretary held a discussion with Serbian Defence Policy Director Predrag Bandic, at which the two sides reviewed in detail the security situation of the Western Balkans region as well as the main aspects and issues of the bilateral military and defence cooperation.

The defence policy directors reaffirmed that the Hungarian–Serbian military and defence cooperation is exemplary, and that they are firmly committed to the further development of the relations. Moreover, they even outlined some new fields of cooperation at their meeting.

In the framework of a panel discussion following the official talks, together with Serbian Defence Policy Director Predrag Bandic and Austrian Defence Policy Director Dr. Arnold Kammel, the deputy state secretary discussed the main challenges in security and defence policy with respect to the region.
