Fejér County units and historical traditions in focus

During their visit to the HDF 51st Signal and Headquarters Support Brigade and the HDF 102nd CBRN Regiment organized by the MoD Department for International Cooperation, the members of the Budapest Military Attaché Corps (BMAC) were introduced to the CIS and CBRN defence capabilities of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

While in Alba Regia Barracks, Colonel István Kása, Commander, HDF 51st Signal and Headquarters Support Brigade informed the military diplomats about the everyday tasks of the brigade, and then about the positions advertised in the “Man to the Hardware!” recruitment campaign.

Besides presenting the tasks of the CBRN Corps and the regimental capabilities, Lieutenant Colonel Tibor Csaba, Acting Commander, HDF 102nd CBRN Regiment also informed the guests about the assistance provided by CBRN specialist in crisis situations.

Following the commanders’ briefings, the defence attachés learned about the military equipment of the two units in the framework of a static display. Among the signalmen’s equipment, the attachés saw the Gidrán R-50 and the RR-1/G radio stations as well as the V-SAT terminal. In the field of CBRN defence, they were informed about the decontamination container, the BTR infantry fighting vehicle and the HAVARIA emergency readiness.

Besides the introduction of the units and task system of the Hungarian Defence Forces, the visit was also aimed at enabling the foreign military diplomats to have an insight into Hungary’s cultural and historical traditions. After learning about the Székesfehérvár-based brigade and regiment, the members of the BMAC visited the Military Memorial Park – Pákozd as well, where, among others, they were informed about the history of the establishment of the Hungarian Defence Forces and the Battle of Pákozd.
