Hungarian Chief Instructor, Multinational Success

For the sixth time, the HDF Pápa Air Base is hosting the Helicopter Tactics Instructor Course organised by the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre. Major Balázs Major is the first Hungarian pilot to assume the role of chief instructor on this course, which trains experienced helicopter pilots to become combat tactics instructors. On October 19, the course leaders held a professional development day in Pápa.
Joint Learning, Enhanced Drone Capabilities

Led by experts from the HDF NCO Academy, a basic international operational drone course was organised in Hungary for the first time. During this pilot training program, military personnel from nine nations shared their knowledge with one another on topics relating to training and capability development. Following the classroom training, during the second week of the course, the participants carried out on-the-job tasks in the airspace of the Csobánka training area.
Spotlight on Hospital Major Incident Medical Management

The Hospital Major Incident Medical Management and Support (HMIMMS) international course is held in Budapest for the second time. British and Estonian military medical professionals provide training to military doctors and specialists of the HDF Medical Centre, as well as civilian doctors, on the effective and standardized organization of hospital major incident medical management.

Quickness, teamwork, harmony. This is how one can summarize the tactical week of the HDF 30th Mechanized Infantry Brigade held in the Bakony Hills, where the soldiers of the 2nd company of the 1st Grenadier Battalion breached a bunker, seized it and then conducted trench warfare. The training sessions did not end nightfall, as the mortar platoons used their Hirtenberger M12 mortars to break the silence of the night.
Three nations, one objective

Strong Lineage 2026: precise, synchronized, international

Besides the Slovak training areas, Exercise Strong Lineage 2026 of the Slovakia-based NATO Multinational Brigade Task Force was conducted in the Bakony Hills, Hungary. The Spanish subunit (Task Force Bravo) of the brigade conducted live-fire training on the “Zero point” shooting range and training area, where its soldiers maneuvered, synchronized fires and took aim precisely on platoon level with their Uro Vamtac combat vehicles.

Italian Centauro combat vehicles, Leopard tanks, as well as H145M and H225M helicopters were roaring on the Zero Point shooting range and training area on 13 May. Part of the multinational NATO Forward Land Forces Battle Group (NATO FLF BG HUN) arrived in the training area as air assault force, and then the whole personnel carried out a successful and coordinated live firing exercise with firearms, other weapons and tanks.
