KFOR: Recognition of exemplary Austrian–Hungarian cooperation

On 30 March in Pristina, Captain Anna Katschnig, Company Commander, KFOR Multinational Military Police (MNMP) received the “Honors for the Partnership” medal from Colonel Gábor Hangya, Senior National Representative of the Hungarian KFOR Contingent KFOR Tactical. The Austrian commander displayed outstanding cooperation and professionalism during the visit of the President of Hungary.

Joint Commemoration is a Victory of Diplomacy

“Today’s meeting also proves that each war grave taken care of jointly and each memorial where we commemorate our fallen soldiers is a victory of diplomacy; a success of mutual respect and reconciliation, of human understanding and sincere wish for peace”, said MoD State Secretary for Force Development and Defence Policy Dr. Zsolt Kutnyánszky at the unveiling ceremony of the memorial erected in honour of the dead heroes from the current territory of the Republic of Moldova in the Heroes’ Cemetery, Miskolc, on 5 March.

“Twenty years after one of the most tragic events of the Slovak nation, this year we gathered together again to commemorate those soldiers who, after their heroic performance, did not return home to hug their loved ones. We are commemorating 42 comrades who could not receive the deserved appreciation for their unselfish service, with which they contributed to keeping the peace in Kosovo. Soldiers, who are dead heroes of the Slovak Republic and the NATO military alliance, and are mourned by their homeland and, with deep condolences, our country as well”, said MoD State Secretary for Force Development and Defence Policy Dr. Zsolt Kutnyánszky in Hejce on 19 January.

On the Distinguished Visitors’ (DV) Day of Exercise Safety Transport 2025, a company consisting of German, Czech and Hungarian platoons was operating in the framework of a complex logistic transport mission to demonstrate its capability of executing loading and transportation tasks on the battlefield. On 13 October, representatives of the three nations observed a display of the military logistic exercise on the Tatárszentgyörgy shooting range and training area of the Hungarian Defence Forces Joint Forces Training Centre.

Quick and professional medical care even under field conditions

Armed Forces Development Now Focuses on People

The Government of Hungary already saw more than ten years ago that the world is changing in a dangerous direction; therefore, they launched an armed forces development program that aims at completely renewing the Hungarian Defence Forces, said Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky at the ceremony of the Ministry of Defence and the Hungarian Defence Forces, combined with an awarding ceremony, on the occasion of Saint Stephen’s Day.
