First-hand NATO experience – future military leaders in Naples

As the first leg of their study trip to Southern Europe, the students participating in the Military General Staff Course of Ludovika University of Public Service Faculty of Military Science and Officer Training visited NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples) in Italy.

Colonel Dr. Attila Lengyel, Senior National Representative and Lieutenant General Sganga, Chief of Staff, JFC Naples received the group. In what followed, the guests participated in a daylong professional program organized by Hungarian soldiers serving at JFC Naples.

As a result of interactive briefings held by leaders and experts of different organizational elements, the students received a comprehensive picture of the tasks of JFC Naples, as well as its area of responsibility and system of cooperation. They gained an insight into the NATO Operational Planning Process and Exercise Planning Process, and were introduced to the current security challenges faced by the Alliance, as well as the task system of the NATO Strategic Direction – South Hub.
